Win: the X3 has the more effortless, low-key elegant presence for a couple's night out.

The QX60 seats up to seven (six with second-row captain's chairs) and offers 75.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the second and third rows folded — enough for a full weekend crew headed to Chastain Park or a family day at Grant Park and Zoo Atlanta. Win: the QX60 is built for bringing everyone and everything.

The X3 tops out at five seats and 31.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats (67.1 with them folded) — plenty for a bike rack and gear for two, but there's no third row to fall back on for a bigger group. Limitation: if your weekends regularly include more than four people, the X3 runs out of room.

Neither vehicle is the objectively "better" choice — they're built for different versions of city living.
