Know Your Minivan
Four minivans, four distinct personalities. Which one fits your Atlanta family?
Every minivan seats 7-8 passengers and has power sliding doors. Here's where they actually differ — and why the choice matters for Georgia families.
Toyota Sienna — Best Fuel Economy ($40,120)
The Sienna is the only minivan on this page that's hybrid-only — every single trim, including the base LE. At 36 mpg combined (FWD), it's more efficient than most compact SUVs. At 15,000 annual miles, it saves approximately $1,000–$1,100 per year in fuel over the Odyssey or Pacifica. It's also one of only two minivans available with AWD — useful for Atlanta ice events. The Sienna's primary limitation is cargo flexibility: its second-row seats tip and slide but cannot fold flat, limiting maximum cargo capacity to 101 cubic feet.
Honda Odyssey — Best for Young Families ($44,245)
The Odyssey is the minivan most thoughtfully designed around children. CabinTalk pipes the driver's voice through rear speakers. CabinWatch lets you monitor rear passengers on the display. Magic Slide seats allow middle-seat repositioning for easier car seat access. At 155.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo (with second-row removed), it has the most interior volume when maximized. The limitation: no hybrid option at 22 mpg, and FWD only. Best for Atlanta families with young children who prioritize child-centric features over fuel economy.
Kia Carnival — Best Value & Warranty ($37,390)
The Carnival starts $6,855 less than the Odyssey and carries the best warranty in the minivan segment: 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain — double what Honda and Toyota offer. The Carnival Hybrid reaches 32 mpg at a middle ground between Odyssey (22 mpg) and Sienna (36 mpg). The 12.3-inch dual infotainment displays are standard — the best screen in this comparison. The Carnival's SUV-inspired styling and ride height also make it the most car-like of the four. FWD only on all powertrains. Best for Atlanta families who want the most features per dollar with long-term warranty protection.
Chrysler Pacifica — Most Cargo Flexibility ($45,640)
The Pacifica's Stow 'n Go seating is its defining differentiator: both second and third rows fold directly into the floor, creating 140.5 cubic feet of perfectly flat cargo space — no lifting out heavy seats, no trip to the garage. For Atlanta families who regularly reconfigure their van for sports equipment, furniture runs, or cargo hauling, the Pacifica is uniquely capable. It also offers AWD on gas trims (the only other AWD minivan is the Sienna) and the class-best 3,600 lb towing capacity. Note: the Pacifica PHEV was discontinued for 2026 — it is gas-only going forward.
